Ahmed Mekky is a young artist full of multidisciplinary talents.
He�s at the same time, a director, an actor and recently a rap singer. Ahmed Mekky was born on June 19, 1980 of an Algerian father (from the Beni Hilal Arab tribe) and an Egyptian mother. He grew up in a large family with two brothers and two sisters; one of them is the actress Ines Mekky. He lives today in Egypt with his mother after his parent�s separation.
Since his childhood he worked in many casual jobs, from selling exotic birds to video library shop assistant. It�s for sure from his last activity was born his love for the cinema world and he decided to join the Institute Sup�rieur du Cin�ma where he got a diploma in directing in 2003. When he was a student, a lot of his works were awarded nationally and internationally.
He was selected two years in a row in the prestigious festival du court-m�trage of Clermont-Ferrand, although it was destined for professionals and at that time Ahmed was still an amateur. This had proven his talent and his artistic genius. Along with Clermont-Ferrand, he participated also, with his works made of small school essays, in many international events in Italy, in Germany, in France and in Argentina.
After his degree he became director some time. He collaborated and elaborated the basics of the successful Egyptian sitcom Tamer and Chouqiya, where he played Haytem�s role, son of a millionaire, awful, spoiled, speaking Arabic and English, a perfect specimen of the young nowadays. A role that made him one of the most appreciated young actors of the public.
He oriented later to the cinematographic art where he got the leading role in three movies; Etch Dbour in 2008 where he was criticised virulently for the language he used to express himself in the movie, considered very popular or indecent, similar of the one used in Egyptian streets, today. Tir Enta in 2009 and La Tarajo� La Esteslem in 2010 were the two other movies.
He directed many feature-length films with great names of Egyptian cinema like Ahmed Fichewi in AL-Hassa Al-Sebi�a (the seventh sense) and Adel Imam in Marjen Ahmed marjen. He directed, also, the TV series Al Kabir Awi (the biggest) and a part of the series Lahadhat Harija (intimate time). Today, Ahmed Mekky is trying rap, we are waiting for the result
